2. Injectors
Yesterday, while accelerating from the highway paytoll at maximum speed I noticed a significant drop in power. It was as if the engine was running out of gas. Or my injectors were not firing. I pulled out the spark plugs this morning and found that 3 were drenched in gasoline and repairer the fourth was dry. I placed a tissue over each hole in the injector and when i start the engine with no sparks, the three that have gazoline pop right out. The 4th one remains closed. I checked the ground connection of ECU pins 14,30, and 48/55. I got 0ohm. Therefore, i think the issue is in another place.
I also tried to reset the PID with no success. The car can start if the G28 is not plugged in and it runs perfectly when it is connected, but still has the intermittent misfire issue at higher RPM. The coolant sensor (G62) even if it is not plugged in, shows an ice temperature of -49c. I also noticed that the oil gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bars when the actual pressure is zero.
I'm not sure what to do, as i believe that i've eliminated everything else. I'm worried that i might have missed something. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know! TIA!
3. Fuel Pump
The fuel pump in the g28 can be activated by a signal from the RPM sensor. The GM-style transmitter is identical to the G4 sender and both work on the 80,100,200, UrS, and RS2 vehicles. You can easily locate a spare in a wrecking shop or parts store.
